Spring has officially sprung, even if it is hard for us to tell here in humid Miami. With spring, however, comes some delightful outdoor events like the 8th Annual Croquet & Croquetas event taking place on Sunday, April 13 at the Deering Estate at Cutler. The VIP reception kicks off at 3 pm, and the main event begins at 4 pm.
Join us for this extraordinary social event and enjoy lavish refreshments, live entertainment, tours of the Deering Estate and grounds with Dr. Paul George and Frank Schena, and croqueta and croquet competitions. The Historical Museum of Southern Florida tells the stories of South Florida and the Caribbean. The museum promotes understanding of the past in order to inform the present and create a better quality of life. The Historical Museum hosts a permanent exhibition gallery and a special gallery with several changing exhibitions each year. In addition, the museum houses a Research Center, a non-circulating library, archives, and store, which offers a unique array of Florida-themed books and gifts. The Historical Museum is located in downtown Miami in the Miami-Dade Cultural Center, across the street from Metrorail’s Government Center Station at 101 West Flagler Street, Miami, Florida 33130.
Hours are Mon-Sat 10 am-5 pm, third Thursdays 10 am–9 pm and Sun 12–5 pm. Admission for adults is $8, children (ages 6-12) is $5, and children under 6 and members are free.
