Atlantis Hotel (Miami Beach, Fla.), 1935 September 17.
26th Street and Collins Avenue. The Atlantis was designed by Lawrence Murray Dixon and built in 1936. Dixon used murals and ornament to create a cohesive environment that alluded to the lost maritime city, Atlantis. The Atlantis was demolished in 1973.
