Biographical Note
The architectural firm Kiehnel and Elliot formed in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1906, with Richard Kiehnel as the designer. In 1917, the firm received its first Florida commission (El Jardin) and in 1922 opened a permanent office in Miami. Kiehnel designed Spanish colonial, Mediterranean Revival and Art Deco buildings
Coral Gables Elementary School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Scope and Contents
Collection consists of drawings and some blueprints. Each folder lists the name of the building or type of structure, developer/owner, location, date, and number of sheets. Many of the sheets are fragile and insect damaged.
