Sun Sox at Miami Stadium, 1952
by Kate Wiswell

Collage, photo heat transfer

Now living in Broward, Ms. Wiswell lived in Miami in the 1950s at which time she acquired a Miami Sox Baseball program and decal. "My love affair with baseball continues to this day," says the avid Marlins fan. In addition to the Miami Stadium, Ms. Wiswell's quilt block also refers to the Everglades National Park, the art fest at the Spanish Monastary (1969), downtown Miami and it's skyline (ca. 1985), and Barry University, established in 1940.
