Caribbean Collage: Archival Collections and the Construction of History was organized by the Historical Museum of Southern Florida in collaboration with The University of Florida George A. Smathers Libraries. The exhibition features more than 200 original documents, rare books, maps and other items from the collections of the Smathers Libraries.
Fernand de la Bruniere. Vue du Cap Francois.From Nicolas Ponce, 1746-1831. Recueil de vues des lieux principaux de la colonie françoise de Saint-Domingue. Paris: A.P.D.R., 1796? This view of the townscape of Cap Français, Saint-Domingue (Haiti), was drawn by Fernand de la Bruniere and engraved by Nicolas Ponce. Much of the city was destroyed during the Haitian Revolution.

Assistance was received from the Smathers Libraries Special Collections and the Latin American Collection of the Department of Special and Area Studies Collections, the Map and Imagery Library, the Digital Library Center and the Department of Preservation.

Maps were selected from the Map and Imagery Library.
