The Everglades

The Historic Site Visit Program is one of the most exciting programs offered for Middle and High School students at The Historical Museum of Southern Florida. Students and teachers visit the Museum and one of several historic sites armed with cameras, notebooks, colored sketch pencils, and a determination to collect documentation data. These sites include:

They then put it together all their work and created a historically relevant hard-cover journal. We have taken a few select pages from several of the books and placed them here for all to see. Books were chosen by our educators according to historical insight, organization, writing, and artistic appeal.

The Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County. With the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners.
